Job Description The Canon to the Ordinary must be passionate about sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, have the heart of a pastor, be a team player, and demonstrate clear administrative skills. Together with the rest of the Executive Staff, they will help monitor the life and work of the diocese in fulfilling our vision for the building up of the Body of Christ. Works with congregations, lay leaders, and diocesan staff on congregational development, providing models for congregational vitality, ensuring regular mutual ministry reviews, facilitating conflict resolution, and assisting congregations in strategic planning, Asset-Based Community Development, and planning for the future. Serves as diocesan leader for clergy transitions, assisting congregations in discerning the type of leadership needed for the challenges and opportunities in their communities; supporting search committees in developing profiles; creating letters of agreement; and recruiting appropriate leaders for interim and long-term positions. Serves as Procedural Officer for Title IV matters, and in collaboration with the Disciplinary Board, ensures that canonically mandated Title IV training and the recruitment of Intake Officers, Advisors, and Pastoral Caregivers are addressed. Identifies and raises up lay and clergy leaders across the diocese to serve in the areas of congregational development, clergy transitions, clergy wellness, and Christian formation, providing external training as needed.
