Location Tempe Campus Open Date Jul 09, 2025 Description The School of Historical, Philosophical and Religious Studies (SHPRS) at Arizona State University invites applications for its faculty associate pool for the 2025-26 academic year and summer session (Session Instructor). Faculty Associates are one semester appointments, with the potential to be renewed. They are part time, non-benefits eligible with no tenure implications, not to exceed .40 FTE (.50FTE during summer session). A typical Faculty Associate course load is one to two classes per semester, either in-person or online.
Teaching duties include:
preparing course materials, responding to and evaluating student work, and availability for one-on-one assistance (via weekly office hours for on-campus classes and electronically for online classes). Individuals employed as Faculty Associates may not hold multiple, non-benefits eligible appointments at Arizona State University. Qualifications Essential functions:

Experience teaching undergraduate History/Philosophy/Religious Studies courses in person and Online.
Desired qualification:
PhD in History, Philosophy, or Religious Studies. Demonstrated commitment to working with faculty, staff, students, and communities to advance the principles of the ASU Charter Application Instructions Anticipated start date is Fall 2025, Spring 2026, or Summer 2026.
