A Philosophy Professor teaches foundational philosophical ideas to students through a combination of classroom instruction and assignments at colleges, trade schools or other institutes. May assist or lead in the creation of the curriculum to be taught. In addition to instruction, they may assist or lead in research initiatives relating to their field.

Statesboro, GA 30458 Department Information Within this setting, the mission of the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies is to cultivate values that affirm self-reflection and prepare students for leadership and service as world citizens. Job Summary Reporting to the department chair, the visiting instructor of philosophy will teach a 5/5 course load. This is an academic year Fall 2026-Spring 2027 appointment for the months of August 2026 through May 2027. All visiting positions are non-tenure track appointments. The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. Required Qualifications Masters degree in Philosophy by August 1, 2026, with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Philosophy. Credentials to teach Introduction to Philosophy, Introduction to Ethics, and Critical Thinking. Willingness to engage with institutional student success initiatives. Commitment to engaging with best practice initiatives in instruction and pedagogy, mentoring, and curriculum design and development.
