Job Description

ACU is affiliated with the fellowship of the Churches of Christ. This position requires the employee to be a professing Christian and to be willing to support the Christian mission of ACU. ‌ Serve as primary support to the Doctor of Ministry and GST Residency programs, coordinating program operations and logistics. The Graduate School of Theology is seeking to hire a Ministry Programs Coordinator to support the work of the Doctor of Ministry (DMin) and GST Residency Programs. This role will work with appropriate stakeholders to manage the daily functions and operations of both the Doctor of Ministry and Ministry Residency programs of the Graduate School of Theology. This is a newly established position within the Graduate School of Theology that will support and strengthen the Seminary's existing and expanding ministry programs and establish robust partnerships with Doctor of Ministry students, Ministers, and Local Congregations. This role includes administrative and managerial components that ensures the flourishing of seminary ministry programming under the supervision of the Dean of the Graduate School of Theology. This position is grant-funded through December 31, 2029 with opportunity for a permanent transition into a full-time staff position. Basic Responsibilities Provide logistical and managerial support to the DMin and Residency Programs Perform various administrative duties in the Graduate School of Theology and various personal assistant duties for seminary officers Essential Duties Provide logistical and managerial support to DMin and Residency Programs Serve as the primary assistant to the DMin and Residency Program Directors Provide professional front-line communication and serve as a resource for students, faculty, and external partners. Manage the project/thesis process for DMin students involving record keeping, Institutional Review Board guidance to students, and student dissertation progress. Support student progress tracking, including monitoring degree milestones, candidacy submissions, and academic requirements. Coordinate logistical and managerial components of the Ministry Residency Program Perform various administrative duties in the Graduate School of Theology and various personal assistant duties for seminary officers Function as part of the larger administrative team within the Graduate School of Theology. Collaborate with the Registrar's Office and other administrative departments to ensure accurate student records, billing, and program compliance. Work with with Student Services Coordinator to plan DMin events Professional Development Requirements Skills Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills Utilizes critical thinking and problem-solving skills Excellent command of professional presentation skills and be comfortable presenting to groups both large and small Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel Proficiency in Google Drive - Mail, Calendar, Docs and Sheets Training Modules Required (provided by ACU) AdobeSign (electronic forms) Workday (travel and expense management) Any others that may be needed Qualifications Professional Bachelor's degree and three years of office experience preferred Good office skills Self motivated - must be able to manage multiple projects and deadlines Good organizational skills and attention to details Must function efficiently and maintain self-control in stressful situations Personal Warm and friendly, good communicator, able to work with peers Discretion and good judgment when handling confidential information Goal-oriented and driven to assist people with meeting their educational goals Self-motivated with the ability to successfully work independently or in a team environment Motivating others by creating a climate in which people can succeed Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external stakeholders Maintains professional appearance (i.e. neat and orderly attire) and work environment (I.e. clean and organized dedicated workspace with professional background) Ability to adapt in a fast-paced and dynamic environment Supports and upholds all student-facing university policies Demonstrates personal and professional integrity Physical Demands A. Able to carry boxes or other items weighing 15-20 pounds B. Able to work at a computer for long periods of time C.
