As an Adaptive Physical Education (APE) Teacher, youll design and implement quality physical education instruction for students with disabilities, ensuring inclusive and growth-focused learning experiences. This contract-based role offers a full-time schedule within a dynamic California school district for the upcoming academic year.
Key Qualifications:
Valid California teaching credential with Adaptive Physical Education authorization, or eligibility to obtain Previous experience supporting students with special needs highly valued Strong ability to communicate and work effectively with colleagues, families, and related service providers Dedication to creating individualized and accessible physical education lessons for diverse learning needs
Core Responsibilities:
Develop and adapt physical education curriculum to meet each students individualized education program (IEP) goals Facilitate engaging activities that promote motor skills, fitness, social interaction, and teamwork Assess student progress regularly and adjust instruction accordingly Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and families to foster an inclusive learning environment Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings as required This role provides a competitive weekly pay structure, in addition to a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage.
