Santa Ynez Valley Christian Academy (SYVCA) Multi-Faceted Teaching Position K-8 Physical Education Teacher & Athletic Director Middle School Advanced Math Support Santa Ynez Valley, CA | Full-Time, Exempt Position Overview Santa Ynez Valley Christian Academy is seeking a passionate, Christ-centered multi-faceted Teacher to lead students academically, physically and spiritually. The responsibilities for this position will include Physical Education teaching for grades K-8; Athletic Director duties for grades 5-8 and Middle School advanced math assistance through tutoring and/or independent studies guidance. The ideal candidate will provide engaging instruction, integrate biblical truth throughout the curriculum, and partner closely with families to support student growth.
Salary Range:
$42,500-$72,500 annually (commensurate with experience)

Responsibilities Create a safe and respectful learning environment which enhances the well-being of each student and inspires them towards lifelong fitness. Integrate Scripture, prayer, and biblical worldview into daily learning. Utilize different strategies to meet students' skill levels, learning styles, and social/emotional needs. Develop programs that encourage leadership, problem-solving, and team building. Incorporate movement-based lessons utilizing skill progression from basic (locomotor) to more complex skills. Work closely with other classrooms and colleagues in cooperative efforts. Facilitate the development or revision of curriculum and instructional materials. Effectively communicate with colleagues, other league Athletic Directors and coaches, and parents/guardians to maintain an open, positive relationship. Participate in professional development activities, such as college course work, workshops, professional associations, and in-service opportunities. Attend all required staff meetings and other activities deemed necessary as outlined in the Employee Handbook. Perform other duties as assigned. Coaching opportunities available. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (required); Master's preferred. State teaching certificate required (California or other); degree or endorsement in Health/Fitness, PE or Health preferred. 3+ years teaching experience in K-8 grades preferred. Strong classroom management, communication, and technology skills. Energetic, flexible, self-starter, and a commitment to participate in the full life of the school. Clear calling to Christian education and agreement with SYVCA's mission and Statement of Faith.
