Summary:

This position will involve teaching health classes and developing a physical education program for students with varying emotional and behavior challenges, aged 13

• 21 years.

The successful candidate should have proven experience in creating a program which motivates student participation as well as commitment to wellness.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Design and direct adaptive physical education classes. Identify and assess needs of each student Evaluate students' growth through review on a consistent basis Provide instruction that is congruent with goals and objectives listed on IEP Ensure the health, safety and general well being of the students Function as a member of IEP team, addressing needs of students Prepare report cards, educational records, classroom observation records, and other documentation as required

Qualifications:

Bachelors level degree in education required Minor in Special Education OR minimum of 5 years experience working with special education students preferred Valid PA Instructional Certificate in Health and Physical Education PK-12 required Experience teaching health and physical education Experience working with children and adolescents with severe and complex behavior challenges in school, community, or residential setting preferred Current police, child abuse and FBI Fingerprint clearances required Salary
