Job Description

Part-Time Physical Education Teacher (Catholic Middle School) Holy Disciples School in Watertown, CT, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Part-Time Physical Education Teacher to join our Catholic middle school community one day per week the opportunity to positively impact students' physical, social, and personal development in a faith-filled school community. The ideal candidate will promote physical fitness, teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy lifestyles while supporting the mission and values of Catholic education. The candidate must also be able to ensure the following:
Responsibilities:
Plan and lead engaging physical education classes for middle school students. Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment. Encourage physical activity, cooperation, and respect among students. Maintain appropriate classroom and gymnasium management. Collaborate with school faculty and administration as needed. Experience working with middle school-aged students preferred. Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Catholic education. Strong communication and organizational skills. Bachelor's Degree and Teaching Certification required. Experience in Catholic or Private Schools is desirable. An enthusiasm for young people and Catholic education. A practicing Catholic in good standing with his/her parish is preferred, with a deep commitment to the mission of Catholic education. Able to work with school technology (e.g.: use of academic software, Microsoft Office, Excel, etc.). Effective communicator both oral and written who is a well-organized professional with great attention to details. Understands and completely embraces the Holy Disciples School Mission and appreciates that the school is driven by its Catholic identity, which focuses on the highest level of ethical, moral, and social behavior of its students, staff, and volunteers.
