Bettendorf Community School District is seeking a dynamic and motivated High School Physical Education Teacher with a strong background in strength and conditioning. This position focuses on developing student fitness, athletic performance, and overall wellness through structured physical education and strength training programs.

Terms of Employment:

Contract

Salary:

$50,000+ (BA, 0–4, 1.0 FTE, 2025–2026 Salary Schedule)

Qualifications:

Must have or be able to obtain Iowa teaching certification with appropriate endorsement Experience in strength and conditioning required Must be able to provide required I-9 documentation to verify eligibility to work in the United States

Knowledge, Skills, and Responsibilities:

Develop and implement engaging physical education curriculum aligned with state standards Design and oversee strength and conditioning programs for students of varying fitness levels Promote safe and effective training techniques, including proper use of equipment Monitor student progress and provide individualized feedback to support growth Foster a positive, inclusive, and motivating learning environment Collaborate with coaches, staff, and administration to support student-athlete development Maintain equipment, facilities, and safety standards in weight room and gym settings Support overall student wellness, fitness education, and lifelong healthy habits
