Job Description

Summary Providence/Clay Elementary Schools are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Physical Education Teacher to join their team. This is a split position between the two schools. The ideal candidate will be passionate about fostering a love for physical activity and promoting healthy lifestyles among students. This full-time position requires a commitment to creating a positive and engaging learning environment that supports the physical, social, and emotional development of all students. Responsibilities Develop and implement a comprehensive physical education curriculum that aligns with state standards and promotes physical fitness, motor skills, and teamwork. Plan and conduct engaging lessons that cater to various skill levels and encourage student participation. Assess student performance and progress in physical education through observations, assessments, and feedback. Create a safe and inclusive environment for all students, ensuring proper use of equipment and facilities. Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate physical activity into the overall school curriculum. Organize and supervise extracurricular activities, such as sports teams, fitness clubs, and school-wide events. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress and ways to support physical activity at home. Stay current with best practices in physical education and participate in professional development opportunities. Promote a positive attitude towards physical fitness and healthy lifestyles within the school community. Requirements Valid teaching certification in Physical Education for elementary education. Experience working with elementary school students in a physical education setting is preferred. Strong knowledge of physical education principles, practices, and safety guidelines. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire students. Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students. Pay is determined by the certified salary schedule attached. Depends on rank and years of experience.
