Mondays & Fridays (2 school days per week) Position Overview Johnson Elementary School, part of the Nahant Public Schools in Massachusetts, is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated 0.4 FTE Physical Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. We are a small coastal community school committed to creating a positive, inclusive, and respectful environment where students thrive both academically and socially. The ideal candidate will share our belief in fostering not only physical fitness and healthy lifestyles, but also character development, teamwork, and respect through structured, engaging physical education instruction. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement a comprehensive, standards-based physical education curriculum. Create engaging lesson plans that promote physical activity, sportsmanship, and healthy habits. Instruct students in a variety of physical activities that foster collaboration and fun! Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment aligned with PBIS principles. Assess student progress and provide feedback that supports growth. Maintain and organize equipment, ensuring a safe space for activities. Collaborate with colleagues to support the physical, social, and emotional well-being of all students. Job Requirements Physical Education (PreK-8) Licensure issued by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) Endorsement Compliance with all state and district hiring requirements (CORI and Fingerprinting) Availability to work on Mondays and Fridays during this upcoming school year. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Physical Education (Master's degree preferred). Previous teaching experience in physical education (preferred). Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to create engaging, inclusive learning experiences. Commitment to PBIS principles and fostering a respectful, positive school culture.
