Job Description The Wellesley College Physical Education department is seeking a dynamic, professional Beginner Level Yoga Instructor for a four course load (2 classes/semester) in the Academic Year 2026-2027. If you love balancing rigorous technical training with creative mentorship, this is the perfect opportunity to work with intellectually curious and physically disciplined undergraduate students in a professional-grade studio environment. Schedule & Term This is a part-time position structured across two distinct semesters.
Semester I:
Tuesdays & Fridays, 11:20 AM•12:20 PM and 2:10 PM•3:10
PM Approximate Dates:
September 8-December 9, 2026
Semester II:
Tuesdays & Fridays, 8:30 AM•9:30 AM and 11:20 AM•12:20
PM Approximate Dates:
February 1•May 5, 2027
Note:
Total commitment is 2 class sections per semester.
Compensation Rate:
$2,000 per semester class section
Total Annual Compensation:
$8,000 for the full academic year (4 classes total)
Key Responsibilities Introductory Instruction:
Lead weekly, 60-minute sessions tailored specifically to beginners, focusing on fundamental postures, basic breathing, and prop usage.
Accessible Pace:
Design slow, progressive flows that build student confidence; use clear, anatomical, and secular language.
Administration:
Handle all required course duties, including attendance tracking, responding to emails and grading (Pass/Fail). Requirements Minimum RYT-200 certification from an accredited yoga school. Current CPR/AED certification. 1-2 years of experience teaching group yoga, with a demonstrated knack for beginner populations.
