Job Description
Durham Academy (DA) is accepting applications for a Middle School Physical Education Teacher . The Physical Education teacher is a member of the PE Department . Strong candidates will have experience teaching PE, planning and implementing high-quality lessons with middle school-aged students, a love for physical activity, and demonstrated success in creating dynamic learning opportunities for students of all skill levels and interests. Candidates should have a comprehensive knowledge of different teaching strategies and methodologies that supports the development of students physical literacy, teamwork, and overall well-being. Duties include teaching four sections of PE to students in grades 5 through 8, and serving as an advisor to a group of up to 12 students. Preference will be given to candidates who have coaching experience at the middle or high school level, hold a degree in PE or a relevant field, and are comfortable teaching in multiple settings. This full-time position will be for the 2026-27 school year.
