Week Salary:

$48,793.70 - $50,543.70 plus benefits Hebrew Academy of the Capital District is seeking a highly energetic and qualified physical and health education teacher for the 26-27 school year.

Core Responsibilities Curriculum & Instruction:

Plan and teach dynamic lessons covering various sports, fitness, and health topics, following school/state standards.

Student Engagement:

Motivate students, teach fundamental movement skills, and foster teamwork, discipline, and positive attitudes.

Safety & Environment:

Maintain an organized, safe, and clean gym/field, enforcing rules and managing student behavior.

Assessment:

Monitor and document student participation, progress, and skill development, providing constructive feedback.

Health Promotion:

Educate students on the importance of healthy lifestyles and physical activity. Key Duties Set up and put away equipment. Adapt activities for diverse learners (varying abilities/needs). Communicate with parents/guardians about student progress. Manage behavior in the gym, cafeteria, and on playgrounds. Organize or coach extracurricular sports/events (e.g., Field Day). Essential Skills & Qualifications/Requirements Knowledge of physical fitness, sports, and child development. Strong instructional, motivational, and communication skills. Ability to manage a classroom/gym setting and resolve conflicts. First Aid/CPR certification required. Relevant degree and state teaching license/certification preferred.

Pay:

$48,700.00 - $50,500.00 per year
