Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Valid NYS teaching certificates in Physical Education K-12 and Health Certified in CPR, AED, First Aid and Lifeguarding
QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED
Experience, knowledge, and background related to N.Y.S. learning standards Experience in adapted physical education Desire and knowledge to balance students' social/emotional and academic/intellectual needs. Evidence of strong communication and interpersonal skills with parents, staff, and students. Desire and ability to work collaboratively with an academic team including an interdisciplinary approach to lesson design. Knowledge and evidence of unit planning and lesson design Uses varied instructional methods and assessments to support: Engaged learning Higher-order thinking skills Meaningful, authentic use of knowledge Fitnessgram PE Profile Evidence of strong classroom management with an emphasis on student engagement and student success in the classroom. Commitment to curriculum development, professional development, flexible teamwork, and instructional technology. Willingness to be a coach or activity advisor. Proven connection to student centered learning and promoting student involvement. Energetic, outgoing personality.
