Job Description Position Summary CiTi BOCES is seeking an enthusiastic and student-centered Long-Term Substitute Physical Education Teacher to provide physical education instruction for students enrolled in our A+ and STRIVE programs. The primary population served will be students with autism in the A+ Program, with additional instruction provided to students in the STRIVE Program. The successful candidate will create a safe, structured, and engaging environment that promotes physical fitness, wellness, teamwork, and positive social interaction while supporting diverse student needs. Essential Responsibilities Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate physical education instruction for students with a range of learning, social-emotional, and behavioral needs.

Adapt activities and instructional strategies to support student participation and success.

Foster physical fitness, motor skill development, teamwork, and healthy lifestyle habits.

Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.

Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and administrators to support student goals and behavioral expectations.

Complete required attendance, grading, and student progress documentation on IEPs.

Approximately November 15, 2026 through January 1, 2027 Job Qualifications Qualifications Required New York State certification in Physical Education.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to effectively support students with diverse learning, behavioral, and social-emotional needs. Preferred Experience working with students with autism and/or students receiving special education services.

Knowledge of adaptive physical education practices.

Experience implementing positive behavior supports and structured learning environments. Job Category
