Responsibilities:

Develop engaging and comprehensive physical education, health, and gross motor movement lessons aligned with state standards and best practices. Plan and conduct physical education, health, and movement classes that promote active participation, skill development, and teamwork. Teach health education, covering essential topics such as nutrition, personal hygiene, mental well-being, and the importance of physical activity. Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to students and parents/guardians on their physical and health-related achievements. Foster a positive and safe learning environment, ensuring the well-being and physical safety of all students during classes and activities. Utilize various teaching strategies and resources to accommodate diverse learning needs and abilities. Incorporate technology effectively to enhance instruction and student engagement in physical education and health classes. Collaborate with colleagues and participate in professional development activities to continuously enhance teaching skills and knowledge. Maintain open communication with students, parents, and administrators regarding student progress, class activities, and school events. Adhere to school policies and procedures, including the implementation of health and safety protocols.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Health Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). Valid teaching certification/license in Pennsylvania or ability to obtain certification. Specialization or coursework in physical education and health instruction. Experience teaching physical education and health to middle school students is preferred. Strong knowledge of physical fitness, health promotion, and age-appropriate teaching methodologies. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment. Proficiency in integrating technology into physical education and health instruction. Commitment to ongoing professional development in physical education and health education.
