Description:
Lakeside Educational Network is seeking a dedicated and passionate Physical Education & Health Teacher to join our team at the Souderton Vantage Academy campus in Souderton, Pennsylvania. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with middle and high school students who require both academic and emotional support. We are committed to fostering a supportive, trauma-informed learning environment where students can thrive academically, physically, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging & comprehensive Physical Education & Health courses to students grades 5-12. Develop and implement lesson plans that promote physical activity, health awareness, and emotional well-being. Collaborate with clinical, behavioral, & educational teams supporting students' holistic development. Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support tailored to individual needs. Foster a positive, inclusive, and trauma-informed classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, participation, and performance. Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and team members regarding student progress and well-being. Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events to enhance instructional practices and school community engagement. Fulfill other daily staff responsibilities such as bus duty, lunch duty, hallway monitoring, etc. Subbing as needed when not teaching classes.
Requirements:
Active Pennsylvania Teaching School Certification in Physical/Health Education required. Public School preferred. Completion of Bachelor's degree. Prior experience teaching middle and high school students, preferably in a supportive or trauma-informed setting. Strong knowledge of physical education curriculum, health topics, and emotional support strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Compassionate, patient, and committed to creating a supportive learning environment. Knowledge of trauma-informed teaching practices is a plus.
