Job Overview The Physical Education Teacher is a faithful, energetic professional passionate about physical literacy, fitness, and whole‑child development. This individual is committed to the school's mission and strategic plan and brings enthusiasm to teaching Physical Education (PE) classes that promote wellness, teamwork, sportsmanship, and lifelong healthy habits. This is a part‑time position dedicated to delivering high‑quality Physical Education instruction aligned with school standards and athletic philosophy. Supervisory Relationship Effective collaboration across departments is essential for success in this role. The Physical Education Teacher reports to the Athletic Director and works collaboratively with all PE instructors and athletics staff. Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree required. Desired fields of study include physical education, recreation administration, kinesiology, exercise science, or related fields. Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. Knowledge of and insight into the principles of child development and learning. Knowledge of fitness training principles and developmentally appropriate methodologies. Fluency in Spanish is beneficial but not required. Strong, positive references that support professionalism and work ethic. Active and practicing Christian requirement; willing to sign Affirmation of Faith. Skills Independent and collaborative work capability. Effective communication across departments to ensure alignment of schedules, expectations, and objectives. Ability to interpret and convey ideas, policies, and information professionally in both written and oral communication. Capacity to recognize the need for change and collaborate through transitions. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities under deadlines. Demonstrated initiative in a team‑based environment and follow‑through on independent projects. Commitment to student‑centered, experiential learning within the PE environment. Friendly, reliable, transparent, supportive, and flexible leadership style. Willingness to acknowledge and pursue personal and professional growth. Responsibilities Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability within the Physical Education program. Participate in meetings, training, and professional development related to athletics and PE instruction. Deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate Physical Education instruction aligned with school standards and athletic philosophy. Support the development of physical literacy, teamwork, sportsmanship, and lifelong wellness. Assist with planning and implementing the Physical Education curriculum and activities. Collaborate with the Athletic Director and athletics staff to support student development. Maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment. Uphold school policies and expectations related to athletics and student conduct. Maintain clear and timely communication to support and strengthen family connections. Engage in mentorship and feedback processes as part of ongoing professional growth. Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School.
