Job Description

Roberts Academy Instructor, P.E, PT Posted on 4/16/2026 Accepting applications About this position The part-time Physical Education Instructor is responsible for planning and delivering a comprehensive physical education program for students in grades 1-8. This includes designing developmentally appropriate lessons that promote physical fitness, motor skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy lifestyle habits. The PE Teacher creates a positive, inclusive environment that encourages all students to participate and grow in their physical abilities. Responsibilities also include maintaining a safe and organized learning space and collaborating with faculty and families to support overall student well-being. This position is part-time, not to exceed 20 hours per week. The typical schedule is two days a week from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with potential flexibility based on school needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provide whole-group physical education instruction to students in grades 1-8. Prepare weekly PE age-appropriate lesson plans for students in grades 1-8. Collaborate with The Roberts Academy faculty and staff. Effectively communicate with parents and other stakeholders related to the students. Contribute to the success of The Roberts Academy by performing all other duties as needed to drive the vision, fulfill the mission, and abide by the values of Florida Southern College. EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS
Earned baccalaureate degree in Exercise Science, Physical Education or related field. Fingerprinting clearance and background check including Clearinghouse approval. 3-5 years' experience working with K-12 students. Desire to work with students in a private school learning environment. Patient and enthusiastic about making a difference in student progress. Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work requires regular standing and walking; talking and hearing, both in person and by telephone; use of hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel or operate standard classroom equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 pounds with or without assistance. Near visual acuity is necessary for reading computer screens and reading printed materials. Ability to listen carefully to others while on the phone or in person.
