Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Elementary PE Teacher/Coach to join our team. This full-time position involves fostering a positive and engaging environment where students can develop physical skills, teamwork, and a lifelong appreciation for health and fitness. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of child development and physical education principles, along with the ability to inspire and motivate young learners. Responsibilities Develop and implement a comprehensive physical education curriculum that aligns with state standards and promotes physical fitness, motor skills, and healthy lifestyle choices. Plan and conduct engaging and age-appropriate physical activities, games, and sports that encourage participation and enjoyment. Assess and monitor student progress in physical skills and fitness levels, providing feedback and support to help students achieve their goals. Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment that fosters respect, teamwork, and sportsmanship among students. Collaborate with other educators and staff to integrate physical education concepts into the broader curriculum and support overall student well-being. Organize and lead extracurricular sports activities, events, and competitions, encouraging student involvement and teamwork. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and upcoming events. Stay current with best practices in physical education and child development through professional development opportunities and continuing education. Maintain equipment and facilities, ensuring they are safe and accessible for all students. Foster a positive relationship with students, encouraging them to develop confidence and a love for physical activity. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field. Valid teaching certification for elementary education with a specialization in physical education (or the ability to obtain one). Experience working with elementary-aged children in a physical education or coaching capacity is preferred. Strong knowledge of physical education principles, child development, and age-appropriate physical activities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. Ability to create an engaging and motivating classroom environment. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Commitment to promoting inclusivity and diversity within the classroom and school community. First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain). A passion for health, fitness, and the development of young athletes.
