Part Time Secondary PE Teacher Spectrum Academy - Pleasant Grove - 2.3 Pleasant Grove, UT Job Details Part-time From $34.94 an hour 3 days ago Qualifications Teaching Certification Working with individuals with autism Professional Educator License Manual handling Teaching physical education Full Job Description Position Part Time Teacher - PE/Adaptive Physical Education About Spectrum Academy Spectrum Academy is a premier Charter School that specializes in working with student with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Approximately 80% of our student body receives Special Education services. Our classrooms are a hybrid of mainstream and resource models found at typical schools. Teachers at Spectrum Academy are required to have an IEP caseload and work with students who may or may not be receiving Special Education services. Essential Functions 1. Provide daily instruction in physical education and health education in alignment with identified teaching standards. 2. Collect physical education program data to evaluate student progress. Share data with school team and parents 3. Consult and collaborate with team members and Paraprofessionals, to schedule services and to modify student's program 4. Maintain a current special education inventory of PE equipment 5. Supervise, teach and monitor student teachers, peer tutors and other staff assigned to assist with programming 6. Assure confidentiality of all students' information 7. Participate in family educational opportunities, including but not limited to Parent Empowerment Nights 8. Conduct student education and outreach opportunities, including assemblies and/or classroom instruction 9. Adhere to and supports Board policy, School guidelines, and administrative rules and directives 10. Maintain accurate case records and documentation 11. Maintain current knowledge of Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations and abides by said laws and regulations with emphasis on persons with disabilities, child welfare, mental health, confidentiality, and student and parent rights 12. Participates in in-service activities and staff meetings promoted by the School 13. Performs other duties as assigned by the Building Principal and the Executive Academic Director. Reports To Assigned Principal Salary/Wage Range Salary or wage is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
