Adjunct Professor of Physics Hiram College invites applications for an adjunct position in Physics to teach one, in-person course and one, in-person lab, during the Fall 2026 semester. The course is
PHYS 11300
Principles of Physics, an algebra-based introductory physics course, and its associated laboratory. The Physics program is located within the School of Science and Technology, alongside Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, and Mathematics. Hiram College, established in 1850 as the Western Reserve Eclectic Institute, is a nationally respected private residential liberal arts college located 30 miles from Cleveland in the historic Western Reserve region of Ohio. At Hiram, close student-faculty interaction and innovation are central to the academic experience. The College's distinctive academic calendar, the Hiram Plan, offers students the opportunity each semester to participate in a three-week intensive course, study abroad/away program, internship, or research experience. The successful candidate will have a minimum of master's degree in physics, or master's degree or PhD in related field with experience teaching introductory physics, or master's degree in related field with at least 18 hours of graduate-level physics coursework. Adjunct instructors are hired on a course-by-course basis each term. Duties are limited to teaching unless otherwise specified.
