Job Description

POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Visiting Professor of Political Science Texas Wesleyan University, founded in1890 in Fort Worth, is a United Methodist institution with a tradition of integrating the liberal arts and sciences with professional andcareer preparation at the undergraduate level and in selected graduate areas. Enrollment is over 3,100 students. The University's School ofArts and Sciences is currently seeking applicants for a Visiting Professor of Political Science beginning August 2026 with possibleconversion to tenure track. Responsibilities include instruction of undergraduate students, with a normal teaching load of fourcourses (12 hours) per semester. Opportunities for summer teaching are sometimes available but are not guaranteed. Teaching occasionalevening and weekend courses (on a rotating basis) is required, and ability to teach online courses is desirable. Additional duties includeadvising undergraduate students, conducting research with undergraduates, participating in curriculum/program assessment & development, anduniversity service. Candidates are required to have a PhD in Political Science or are ABD in Political Science with a completiondate not to exceed one year. The area of specialization is open, but the ability to teach fundamental courses in Government, PoliticalTheory, Comparative Government, Constitutional Law, International Relations, Research Methods or similar courses is essential. Previousteaching experience is required, as is demonstrated potential for teaching excellence and quality research. Previous teaching experience insome or all of the courses listed above is desirable. Applications will be accepted until filled.
