Department Prothro-Yeager College of Humanities & Social Sciences Job Classification(s): Lecturer Starting Date Fall 2026 Closing Date Responsibilities The Department of Political Science in the Prothro-Yeager College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Midwestern State University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track Lecturer to begin in Fall 2026. As a faculty member in the Department of Political Science, you will be expected to: Teach 12 credit hours/4courses of American national government and Texas government each semester Teach in-person and online courses Communicate and meet with students Assist with departmental needs Maintain a regular presence on campus

Requirements Required Qualifications Include:

1. MA in Political Science 2. Demonstrated teaching effectiveness.

Preferred Qualifications Include:

PhD (ABD accepted) in Political Science. Commitment to undergraduate education. Experience teaching courses in American national government and/or Texas government. Experience teaching in-person courses. Experience teaching online courses. Standard Requirements Requires the ability to maintain positive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the community.
