Program Director Sunshine Adventures San Francisco, CA Job Details Full-time $75,000 - $100,000 a year 15 hours ago Qualifications Early childhood education center experience CPR Certification Teamwork Interpersonal skills First aid Supervising experience Bachelor's degree Team management Organizational skills Full Job Description The Program Director oversees the daily operations, staffing, curriculum implementation, and compliance of three preschool locations serving children from 18 month through kindergarten. This leadership role ensures high-quality early childhood education programs, supports teaching staff, maintains licensing compliance, and fosters strong relationships with families and the community. The ideal candidate is an experienced early childhood leader who is organized, collaborative, and passionate about creating nurturing and engaging learning environments for children and staff. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily operations across all three preschool locations Ensure programs maintain high standards of health, safety, and quality care Monitor classroom environments, schedules, and program implementation Develop and maintain operational procedures and policies Coordinate enrollment, classroom ratios, and staffing coverage Staff Leadership & Development Supervise, mentor, and support site directors, teachers, and support staff Conduct staff evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and professional development Lead team meetings and foster a positive workplace culture Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention of qualified staff Licensing & Compliance Ensure all sites remain in compliance with state licensing regulations and program requirements Maintain accurate records and documentation for inspections and audits Oversee mandated reporting procedures, health and safety practices, and staff certifications Coordinate licensing visits and quality assessments Curriculum & Child Development Support implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum and teaching practices Monitor classroom quality and child engagement Promote positive guidance strategies and inclusive learning environments Collaborate with teachers to support children's developmental needs Family & Community Engagement Build strong relationships with families through effective communication and support Address parent concerns professionally and promptly Organize family events, orientations, and community partnerships Maintain a welcoming and inclusive school culture Administrative Responsibilities Manage budgets, purchasing, and operational planning Maintain enrollment records and program data Collaborate with administrative staff on billing, scheduling, and reporting Support strategic planning and program growth initiatives Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field preferred Minimum 3-5 years of leadership experience in early childhood education Knowledge of state licensing regulations and preschool operations Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Experience supervising multiple classrooms or sites preferred CPR/First Aid Certification and Mandated Reporter Training required Ability to multitask and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment Preferred Skills Experience with multi-site program management Familiarity with Brightwheel or other childcare management systems Experience with staff coaching and professional development Strong conflict resolution and family communication skills Bilingual abilities are a plus
