Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated DCF Certified Childcare Director to lead our early childhood education team with energy and enthusiasm. In this vital role, you will oversee daily operations of a nurturing childcare environment, ensuring that children receive high-quality care and developmentally appropriate learning experiences. Your leadership will inspire staff, foster a safe and engaging atmosphere, and promote positive growth for every child in your care. Duties Lead the overall management of the childcare center, ensuring compliance with all licensing requirements and safety standards. Supervise and support staff, including teachers, caregivers, and administrative personnel, fostering a collaborative and motivated team environment. Develop and implement age-appropriate and Christian curriculum plans that promote childhood development, preschool readiness, and social-emotional growth. Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming classroom environment for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and children with special needs. Conduct regular classroom observations to ensure quality teaching practices, classroom management, and behavior guidance strategies are effectively applied. Coordinate parent communication, including updates on child progress, developmental milestones, and center policies. Oversee enrollment processes, maintain accurate records, and ensure all staff hold current certifications such as First Aid and CPR. Promote ongoing staff training in early childhood education best practices, special education strategies, working with children with disabilities, and behavior management techniques. Qualifications Valid DCF (Department of Children and Families) Childcare Certification or equivalent licensing required. Proven experience working with children across various age groups including infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and children with special needs. Strong background in childhood development principles and early childhood education methodologies. Demonstrated classroom management skills along with experience in caregiving roles such as nannying or babysitting preferred. Knowledge of safety protocols including first aid procedures; certification highly desirable. Excellent leadership abilities with experience supervising childcare staff or teaching teams.
