Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily operations, maintenance, and overall functionality of the Fitness Center, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students, employees, and community members. Manage Fitness Center personnel, including recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, supervising, and evaluating staff while ensuring all required certifications and compliance requirements remain current. Coordinate the inspection, maintenance, repair, and replacement of Fitness Center equipment and inventory, while serving as the primary liaison with Facilities, Custodial Services, and Campus Safety to address operational, maintenance, and safety concerns. Assist with the development, implementation, promotion, and assessment of Fitness Center programs, services, and initiatives designed to increase participation, engagement, and overall facility utilization. Support the administrative operations of the Fitness and Aquatic Centers through membership management, scheduling, billing, rental agreements, website maintenance, social media updates, customer service, and patron communications. Maintain facility records, incident reports, conduct documentation, maintenance logs, and departmental data; compile assessment metrics and reports to support annual planning, evaluation, and performance measurement efforts. Provide administrative support to the Athletics Department as assigned. Create and distribute fitness center communications and event materials. Assist coaches with planning strength and conditioning programs for athletic teams. Assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of athletics, fitness, and special events, including competitions, tournaments, banquets, campus programs, and other departmental activities.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Knowledge of fitness center operations, equipment maintenance, safety procedures, and facility management. Knowledge of staff supervision, scheduling, and training practices. Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills. Effective leadership and customer service skills, with the ability to work with diverse populations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and administrative systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate records, and support reporting and assessment efforts. Ability to coordinate programs and events and collaborate with campus partners. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and maintain a safe, welcoming environment.
