Full-time, Hourly (salary after 1 year of employment) About Us We are a premier early childhood learning program dedicated to fostering young minds. Our academy stands out by utilizing a nature-based curriculum that emphasizes environmental stewardship, empathy, and child independence. We are seeking an organized, passionate, and regulatory-savvy Assistant Director to help guide our educators and support daily operations. Position Overview The Assistant Director is responsible for supporting the Academy Director in the comprehensive oversight of the school. You will play a vital role in staff scheduling, curriculum quality control, classroom assessments, and professional development. When the Director is away, you will act as the Director-in-Charge. A core focus of this role is coaching our teaching staff to successfully deliver our signature nature-based curriculum.
Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Development:
Supervise classroom staff, train and coach lead teachers, conduct performance evaluations, and lead monthly staff meetings.
Compliance & Administration:
Assist with student enrollments, tuition collection, and child/staff file maintenance. Stay fully up to date and compliant with CAPS, CACFP, Georgia Pre-K, and "Bright from the Start" / Quality Rated standards.
Operations & Scheduling:
Manage the school's food program, monitor CAPS, coordinate staff schedules (including opening/closing administration coverage), and handle inventory/supply ordering.
Educational Support & Family Relations:
Conduct tours for prospective families, assist with family conferences, and onboard new classroom educators.
Safety & Support:
Ensure strict adherence to health and sanitation protocols. Maintain state-mandated ratios by stepping into caregiving or teaching roles inside the classroom when needed.
Continuous Growth:
Complete a minimum of 21 hours of professional development annually.
Qualifications & Requirements Education:
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Child Development (with a minimum of 24 completed ECE units).
Certifications:
Current Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification; completion of Health, Safety, and Nutrition coursework.
Experience:
Proven experience coaching teachers or managing administrative operations in a licensed Georgia childcare facility is highly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work comfortably outdoors in various weather conditions (essential for our nature-based philosophy).
Clearance:
Must successfully pass a comprehensive fingerprint and Georgia DECAL background check prior to start date.
Schedule & Pay Shift:
Monday to Friday (Must be flexible to cover school opening or closing shifts as needed)
