A Preschool or Childcare Director manages and directs programs for very young children. Supervises child care workers and pre-school teachers. Proposes policies, program fees and budgets for approval by a program board or administrative agency or implements policies of a national organization. Meets with parents and staff to discuss the development, learning and behavior of children in the program or center. Orders supplies and monitors maintenance and cleaning at a facility. Ensures that the program or center meets state and federal guidelines.

  • Minimum requirement of at least one year of preschool management experience
  • TCC or CDA required
  • Must be a team builder, highly organized, and possess excellent customer service/communication skills
  • Flexible and energetic
  • Have the ability to juggle multiple duties
  • Ability to resolve conflicts
  • Computer proficiency including Word, and Excel, and the ability to learn other programs quickly
  • Must pass a criminal background check

Responsibilities
  • The Director is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the preschool
  • This position is responsible for smooth day-to-day operations, financial management, curriculum delivery, employee/student retention and achievement, parent/community relations, and strategic planning for the school
  • Manage assigned schools in accordance with company financial and budgetary guidelines
  • Hire, train, and supervise teachers and other staff
  • Operate the school according to state licensing standards
  • Assist teachers with the weekly development and execution of the curriculum and program activities
  • Purchase supplies, equipment, food, and other materials necessary for program operations
  • Execute marketing plan (both internal and external) necessary to maintain desired enrollment
  • Ensure a safe environment for the children in our care
