Join Our Leadership Team! The Chestnut Treehouse is seeking a dependable, energetic, and experienced Assistant Director to oversee afternoon operations and ensure our center closes each day safely, professionally, and in full compliance with Georgia DECAL licensing requirements. This position is ideal for a leader who thrives in a fast-paced childcare environment, enjoys mentoring staff, building relationships with families, and ensuring children receive exceptional care and education. Responsibilities Assist the Center Director with daily operations and overall center management. Lead afternoon and evening operations, ensuring a smooth and organized closing each day. Maintain compliance with all Georgia DECAL licensing regulations, health, and safety standards. Supervise, coach, and support teachers and classroom staff. Ensure classrooms remain in proper staff-to-child ratios throughout the day. Step into classrooms as needed to maintain quality care and adequate staffing. Build positive relationships with children, families, and team members. Conduct classroom observations and provide coaching and support. Assist with staff scheduling, attendance, and daily classroom coverage. Help onboard and train new employees. Maintain accurate licensing and personnel documentation. Ensure the facility is clean, organized, secure, and ready for the next business day. Handle parent concerns professionally and provide excellent customer service. Assist with enrollment tours and family engagement activities. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in a licensed childcare center. Thorough knowledge of Georgia DECAL licensing regulations . Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proficient computer skills , including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and/or Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive), email, and the ability to learn childcare management software. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience supervising, mentoring, and evaluating staff. Current CPR and First Aid Certification or the ability to obtain upon hire. Must successfully complete all required state background checks. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Quality Rated programs. Experience with CAPS, Georgia Pre-K, or CACFP.
