Security sensitive (subject to pre-employment criminal background investigation) FTE 1.0 Description Benefits Description The College of Health and Human Sciences at Southern Illinois University is pleased to announce a search for the Director of the Evaluation and Developmental Center. This is a term, Administrative Professional position. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity. Examples of Duties Develops and maintains relationships with Funding Sources. Writes grant application for external funding. Responsible for policy development and implementation of all programs and services of the Evaluation and Developmental Center. Supervises professional staff. Supervises Graduate Assistant staff through subordinates. Coordinates with faculty in various academic programs and colleagues in the Community Care and Education Center. Recruits staff. Maintains certification standards of the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. Completes all internal and external reports. Develops and implements a system of program evaluation. Maintain close contacts with local and regional service providers. Represents the facility through interaction with professional groups in the community and the university. Implements the University staff appraisal system. Performs ongoing analysis of agency performance for planning and development.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Master's in Counseling and Rehabilitation Education or equivalent field and a valid U.S. drivers license. Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) or the ability to obtain the Certified Rehabilitation Counselor credential within three years from date of hire. Experience with supervising staff and students, experience in working with individuals with disabilities, experience in agency administration.
Preferred Qualifications:
The individual's ability to provide leadership in programming is essential. Knowledge of disabilities, interpersonal relationship building, good verbal and written communication skills and successful time management are all skills and abilities critical to the performance of this position. Additionally, networking and collaboration to increase and maintain funding with local and state agencies is crucial.
