Meets with parents and staff to discuss the development, learning and behavior of children in the program or center. Orders supplies and monitors maintenance and cleaning at a facility. Job Focus:
The Director is the professional responsible for the operation of the on-site childcare program. The major function of the Director shall be the supervision of the entire Early Learning Center program and the efficient functioning of the staff.
Essential Functions:
 Development and supervision of the daily childcare program  Supervision and orientation of teachers, substitutes and volunteers  Supervision of child recruitment; maintain contact with state and local agencies, which refer preschoolers  Conduct on-going parent/child interviews as well as interviews for admission and/or discharge from center  Develop curriculum for center and implement, supervise and evaluate the same  Make regular and periodic observation of each classroom  Coordinate teachers and teacher's aides in developing classroom plans and objectives  Plan, supervise, and drive for special events and field trips  Conduct annual evaluation of department staff  Coordinate in-service training for department staff  Monitor compliance with regulations for the CHR, the Department of Education, and the local health department  Attend all pertinent community meetings related to the Early Learning Center as assigned  Work with the Fiscal Manager in planning and developing an annual budget  Plan & carry out annual fund raisers to benefit the Early Learning Center  Prepare for and participate in all regulatory inspections  Assist in preparing and presenting United Way request for funding  Keep very detailed records required per state regulations  Provide other services as required for the efficient functioning of
The Salvation Army Job Requirements/Qualifications :
 Bachelor's degree in early childhood development/education and 3-5 years of similar experience.  Classroom, administrative and supervisory experience required  Familiarity with CHR licensing regulations & CACFP policies and procedures preferred  Must meet requirements of city and state licensing agencies (CPR, First Aid & TB Skin test)  Flexibility & strong work ethic  Good communications skills (written & oral)  Must be prompt and maintain regular attendance  Have a clean and neat appearance  A passion for The Salvation Army's mission
