A Preschool or Childcare Director manages and directs programs for very young children. Supervises child care workers and pre-school teachers. Proposes policies, program fees and budgets for approval by a program board or administrative agency or implements policies of a national organization. Meets with parents and staff to discuss the development, learning and behavior of children in the program or center. Orders supplies and monitors maintenance and cleaning at a facility. Ensures that the program or center meets state and federal guidelines.

Essential Qualifications:
Must have some accounting experience. Must have computer skills. Must be able to type and use other office equipment. Will receive on-the-job training regarding proper handling of administrative matters according to formulated policies as well as offsite training at central accounting offices. Has ability to work well with the general public. Has ability to meet and deal with a variety of employees, residents and relatives. Considerable initiative and judgment are needed in promoting favorable public relations. Must be sociable, courteous and have a memory for details.
The Ideal Candidate:
Handles resident billing and collection per prescribed procedures. Familiar with insurance coverage on residents to channel their medical bills and supplies. Familiar with Medicare (Part A and Part B), Medicaid, and PPO/HMO verification and appeal processes Familiar with the admission folder and admission procedure for new admissions.
