A Preschool or Childcare Director manages and directs programs for very young children. Supervises child care workers and pre-school teachers. Proposes policies, program fees and budgets for approval by a program board or administrative agency or implements policies of a national organization. Meets with parents and staff to discuss the development, learning and behavior of children in the program or center. Orders supplies and monitors maintenance and cleaning at a facility. Ensures that the program or center meets state and federal guidelines.

Director:
The Preschool Director serves as the educational and operational leader of Messiah Lutheran Preschool Early Education Program. This position is responsible for providing visionary leadership that supports the mission of Messiah Lutheran Church by fostering a Christ-centered environment where children grow academically, socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. The Director oversees the daily operations of the early learning center, ensuring compliance with Minnesota licensing regulations while maintaining excellence in early childhood education. Responsibilities include supervising and developing staff, supporting children and families, managing enrollment, budgeting and financial stewardship, marketing, regulatory compliance, and cultivating a positive, collaborative workplace culture. Working in partnership with the church staff and Leadership Council, the Director builds meaningful relationships with families and serves as an ambassador for the ministry, creating opportunities for children and their families to experience the love of Jesus Christ.
