Director of Sharon Presbyterian Weekday School (SPWS) Reports to:Senior Pastor of Sharon Presbyterian Church Advisory and Consultation Relationships:
Session of Sharon Presbyterian Church, SPWS Committee;SPWS Parent Council Background and Positon Overview:
The Sharon Presbyterian Church Weekday School (SPWS), is a half-day preschool operated by Sharon Presbyterian Church (SPC) on its campus at 5201 Sharon Road, Charlotte, NC 28210. With a current enrollment of approximately 100 students and a staff of 15-29 part-time teachers, the Weekday School is grounded in and guided by SPC's mission: Rooted in God's grace, Growing in faith, Sharing the joy of Christ, Loving and serving all. As the chief administrator of the SPWS, the Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the preschool. The Director will ensure that the school follows all pertinent state and local laws, safety curriculum (in consultation with the Education Committee), staff hiring, development and management, communications, enrollment, budget development and management. The Director shall abide by the objectives and policies set by the SPWS Committee and Sharon Presbyterian Church, while aligning the SPWS program with the Church's missionQualifications:
The candidates for Director should demonstrate: Enthusiasm for young children and their families Administration and management skill to manage a staff of 15-20 part-time teachers and administrative support personnel Strong communication and leadership skills, decision making and team management skills Effective ability to build trusting relationships with staff, parents and the church The person holding this position should have a bachelor's degree, preferably in early childhood education, child development or a combination of education background and related experience. They should have three to five years of experience in teaching and program administration, preferably in a preschool setting. This position requires proficient computer skills including Micosoft Office. The Director must be able to communicate elecytroncically via an online communication platform (currently, Brightwheel) Duties and Responsibilities include:Staff Oversight and Development Budget Developoment and Financial Management Property Management Oversight of Operational Documentation Community and Church Relations Pay:
