Job Description

Kiddie Academy of Briarcliff Manor is seeking an experienced and dynamic Executive Director to lead our new early childcare center. The Executive Director will play a pivotal role in shaping the school's culture, building strong relationships with families, and guiding a team of dedicated educators. This leadership position is ideal for a motivated professional who thrives on creating a nurturing, high-quality learning environment, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving community engagement to support enrollment and growth. You will oversee daily operations, ensure compliance with state regulations, and create a welcoming, supportive environment for children, families, and staff, all while upholding the school's values and mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Staff Development:
Recruit, train, and develop top talent, ensuring the academy is fully staffed and that all employees are supported and inspired to provide high-quality care and education. Foster a positive, inclusive work environment and promote teamwork.
Operations & Curriculum Oversight:
Manage day-to-day operations, ensuring adherence to state and local regulations, and implementing our developmentally appropriate Life Essentials curriculum. Ensure that all learning programs align with state guidelines and accreditation standards.
Family Engagement:
Create a warm, welcoming environment where parents feel comfortable and confident in the care their children receive. Provide academy tours, respond to inquiries, and maintain clear communication with families through newsletters, meetings, and events.
Compliance & Licensing:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with state licensing authorities and ensure all aspects of the school, from staffing to facilities, meet regulatory standards. Ensure all staff maintain necessary training hours and certifications.
Budgeting & Financial Management:
Assist with budget preparation and manage expenses to ensure resources are used effectively. Oversee tuition collection, vendor transactions, and supply purchases while working within established budget guidelines.
Center Maintenance:
Oversee the physical environment, ensuring the facility is clean, safe, and well-maintained. Coordinate repairs and improvements as needed, and ensure janitorial work is performed to a high standard.
Community Outreach:
Represent the academy in the community, building relationships with local organizations and families. Plan and execute family and community events to enhance engagement and promote the school.
Professional Development:
Complete required training hours, stay current on early childhood education best practices, and support staff in their professional growth.
Qualifications:
Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Educational Field (REQUIRED) Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Childcare Director or Assistant Director at an organization with 80 or more enrolled students and more than 25 employees (REQUIRED) Satisfy state-required Director credentials (REQUIRED) Working knowledge of OCFS regulations (REQUIRED) Strong knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices Experience working with early childhood education accrediting agencies such as NAEYC Proven ability to manage, mentor, and lead staff Excellent communication and organizational skills Strong commitment to customer service and family engagement Demonstrates confidence and integrity when speaking to families and staff Able to lift up to 50 lbs. as it pertains to the handling of children for the facilitation of the curriculum, child safety, and potential emergencies Must meet background check eligibility Experience with ramping up enrollment

$80,000-$85,000 PLUS opportunity for an additional $10,000 per year in Quarterly Performance Bonuses!
