Ensures that the program or center meets state and federal guidelines.

Position Summary:
The Nurse Manager, Birthing Center provides unit leadership within the Perinatal, Labor and Delivery, Post-Partum, Mother-Baby Departments The Nurse Manager, Birthing Center s is accountable for the effective delivery of competent, compassionate, and efficient patient care. Responsibilities include coordination of patient care; supervision of a professional team that includes nursing and other licensed and unlicensed staff as appropriate; administrative and budget management; troubleshooting of problem areas; organizational change management; ensuring compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards; quality assurance/quality improvement; safety and risk management requirements as well as actualization of hospital and unit policies, goals and objectives. Further, improving unit operations, enhancing communication and feedback, customizing education and staff roles, and accepting organizational accountability for services provided to recipients are critical outcomes expected of this role. Collaborative leadership, strong organizational skills, and communication skills are essential for this role. The ideal candidate would possess strong clinical expertise, leadership skills, and a dedication to delivering high-quality patient care in a rural healthcare setting.
Education:
Education:
Graduation from an accredited nursing program with Associate's degree or diploma. Employee is trained and prepared to care for the age-specific group {i.e.: neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric} served on their assigned unit.
Preferred:
Bachelor of Science/Nursing degree or Master's degree.
Education:
Five (5) years of labor and delivery, post partum, mother baby experience or equivalent.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Possess current NYS license for Registered Professional Nurse; AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) an
NRP, AWHONN
intermediate or advanced fetal heart monitoring certification within 6 months of hire.
Preferred:
Certification in area of practice. (Consistent with the type of patient population to be managed) Two years in management experience. AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
