QUEEN CITY LEADERSHIP STANDARD
When someone has been given much, much will be required in return; and when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required. Luke 12:48 We believe that leadership is not about a title or position. It is an opportunity to serve the people that God has entrusted to us, and to play an influential role in guiding them on their spiritual journey. With every increase in leadership comes increased benefits—influence, development, specific training, access, opportunities, etc. On the other hand, with every increase in leadership also comes additional responsibility and accountability. We've done our best to articulate these expectations for leadership through our Leadership Standard—not to create an unattainable leadership standard of perfection—but to communicate the responsibility associated with any leadership role in Queen City Church. The following are expectations of every person in a leadership role at Queen City Church, which includes any position on the Leadership Team, any ministry team of a Dream Team, any group leader, YTH leader, any teacher in any environment (kids through adults), and anyone on the worship team. Again, the goal of these expectations is not perfection, but direction. The goal is that our hearts are always pointed towards Jesus, that we are always putting God first in every area of our lives, and that our target is to live according to God's Word. This is a way of life measured by the heart and commitment of each leader at Queen City Church.
AS A LEADER IN QUEEN CITY CHURCH, I COMMIT TO LIVE, MODEL, AND BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE TO THESE STANDARDS
  • I acknowledge that I have made the decision to make Jesus the Lord and Savior of my life and have a personal relationship with Him.
  • I am committed to growing and maturing in my personal relationship with God through consistently reading the Bible, prayer, fasting, Sabbath, and accountable relationships.
  • I am committed to being planted at Queen City Church through consistently and faithfully attending church, attending/leading groups, serving, and giving/tithing.
  • I am committed to always being teachable, always growing, and always getting better.
  • I am committed to passionately supporting the mission, vision, and values of Queen City Church.
  • I have read and am committed to upholding the Queen City Church Statement of Faith. As a leader in Queen City Church, I understand that it is ok to have a different personal belief, but it is not ok to promote, teach or communicate about that different personal belief in a divisive way.
  • I am committed to supporting and honoring Queen City Church leadership in both speech and action.
  • I am committed to pursuing unity in any/all circumstances and understand that any disunity or gossip could lead to removal of leadership.
  • I am committed to working as a team, keeping a positive attitude, and having a servant spirit at all times.
  • I am committed to no unwholesome talk but only what is helpful to building others up (Ephesians 4:29) at church, at work, at home, on social media, and in any/all circumstances.
  • I am committed to making choices and living a lifestyle that is both Godly and above reproach.
I understand that how I live my life as a leader impacts how others perceive Jesus. Although not an exhaustive list, this would include abstaining from dishonest gain, illicit use of drugs, getting drunk, pornography, cohabitation, sexual immorality outside of the New Testament definition of marriage listed in 1 Timothy 3:2 (i.e. any sexual activity outside of marriage; with marriage being defined as the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive, life-long union), or any intentional, unrepented cycle of sin. I will abstain from anything that would cause Christ to grieve and others to stumble.
  • I will support the Queen City Church alcohol policy that there will be no church event or group with alcohol or centered around alcohol.
