JOB PURPOSE
The Child Development Center (CDC) Director strengthens our community by directing the daily care, learning, and development of every child in the program. Reporting to the Executive Director, the CDC Director leads all functions of the Child Development Center in alignment with NAEYC accreditation standards and Oklahoma Department of Human Services licensing requirements. This role carries a direct focus on enrollment growth and retention, program quality, staff development, child safety, and an exceptional family experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
(not a complete list): Oversee daily center operations and ensure compliance with NAEYC & Oklahoma Child Care Licensing requirements Recruit, hire, and coach a qualified and effective staff team, fostering a culture of excellence in the classroom and continuous professional growth. Build strong partnerships with families by maintaining open and professional communication regarding children's progress and needs. Maintain accurate records for licensing, attendance, staff credentials, incident reports, and compliance documentation. Identify opportunities for program improvement and contribute ideas that strengthen the center's culture and quality. Assist in creating and managing the annual budget for the child care center; meeting targets for enrollment, payroll, supplies, equipment, etc. Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures regarding the prevention of abuse. Report any suspected abuse, neglect, or misconduct immediately to the appropriate supervisory staff. Attend mandatory training on abuse prevention, including recognizing signs of abuse, and reporting requirements. Assume all other responsibilities as deemed necessary or assigned.
Required:
Must be 21 years old Minimum 2 years experience as a Lead Teacher in a Pre-School Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) or equivalent experience Staff supervision experience Qualifications to serve as a Director of a OKDHS Licensed Site Knowledge of budgeting & expense control Excellent written and oral communication skills
