Job Description

The assistant director for Middlebrook Playschool oversees daily operations, supporting the director with staff management, curriculum planning, and ensuring a safe, compliant environment. Key responsibilities include supervising staff, handling administrative tasks like enrollment and parent communication, and assisting with the development of educational activities and lesson plans. The role also involves ensuring the facility meets safety and licensing regulations and stepping in to lead the center when the director is absent.
Core responsibilities Staff management:
Assist in hiring, training, and supervising childcare staff, including performance evaluation and handling staff issues.
Curriculum and program development:
Contribute to creating and implementing age-appropriate, educational activities and lesson plans that adhere to state standards.
Administrative duties:
Manage paperwork, maintain records (attendance, enrollment, billing), and communicate with parents about their children's progress and center events.
Safety and compliance:
Ensure the facility is safe, clean, and compliant with all federal, state, and local licensing regulations and protocols.
Day-to-day operations:
Oversee the daily schedule, manage classroom ratios, and step in to work with children or staff as needed. Key skills Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with children, parents, and staff. Exceptional administrative and time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently. Knowledge of child development, behavioral therapy, and early childhood education best practices. Professionalism and excellent customer service skills.

$16.00 - $17.00 per hour
