Job Description
We are seeking a passionate, experienced, and dedicated Child Development Center (CDC) Director to lead our early childhood education program and nurture a warm, supportive, and enriching learning environment for children, families, and staff. You will lead a highly dedicated, caring team of tenured teachers who love what they do. Are you a seasoned Early Childhood Director or Assistant Director or an experienced lead early elementary teacher or administrator looking for a well-established (45 years) year-round learning center?
Responsibilities:
Mentor & Coach:
Supervise, support, and provide hands-on coaching for our deeply caring and tenured teaching staff (lead teachers, assistants, and support staff). You'll help them continue to bring our play-based, emergent curriculum to life.Operational Excellence:
Collaborate with the leadership team, ensuring we exceed state licensing standards and Texas Rising Star (TRS) requirements.Curriculum Leadership:
Guide the implementation of engaging play-based learning plans (experience with Frog Street or similar curricula is a plus!). Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for children and families.Community Building:
Foster inclusive, warm relationships with parents, staff, and church leadership to meet long-term school goals.Strategic Management:
Handle enrollment and continuous improvement plans to ensure our center thrives. Qualifications Supervisory and classroom experience. Demonstrated ability to develop and mentor staff.Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (Master's preferred). Must meet or be able to quickly attain state director credentialing requirements (we will sponsor the right candidate)Experience:
At least 3 years in early childhood or early elementary education. We value leadership or administrative experience, whether that was as a Director, Assistant Director, Grade Level Chair, or Instructional Coach.Subject Matter Expertise:
Strong knowledge of child development, licensing regulations, and TRS standards.Soft Skills:
Exceptional communication and organizational skills, with a natural ability to collaborate with and advocate for a tenured, seasoned staff.Certification:
Current CPR/First Aid certification. Physical Requirements Work is performed in a childcare center, 0-5 classroom settings, and/or in an office. Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling. Occasional lifting of objects up to 50 pounds. Occasional carrying of children ages 0-5. Why Join Us?
