The Assistant Director will ensure day to day operations run smoothly, staff and parent's needs are addressed quickly and effectively, while operational matters and standards are maintained. The assistant director will also provide curriculum guidance, and participate in hiring and supervision of staff alongside the director as needed. About the St.
Mark's CDC:
The mission of St. Mark's Children's Development Center (CDC) is to guide each child in his or her emotional, social, intellectual and spiritual growth through meaningful, developmentally appropriate play. St. Mark's CDC utilizes the Reggio Emilia approach, a student-centered educational philosophy and pedagogy. This approach is grounded in the belief that children are fully capable, creative individuals who have the right to make meaningful decisions in various ways.
Essential Functions:
Works with the director to create and maintain a positive work environment and develop a nurturing culture for students and staff members. Ensures implementation of a developmentally appropriate curriculum, currently utilizing the Frog Street curriculum, to nurture the whole child—spiritually, emotionally, cognitively, physically, and socially. Maintains all student files and documentation for registration and enrollment. Ensures the functionality, maintenance, safety and cleanliness of the school classrooms, utility rooms, offices, restrooms, playgrounds, and other areas used by the CDC. Works with the Director to maintain licensing standards and ensures appropriate documentation and relationships for all licensing and regulatory agencies
Other Responsibilities:
Assists with fundraising activities and special events. Coordinates tours for prospective families in partnership with the Director.

Other skills Excellent oral and written communication Ability to lift a small amount of weight (the weight of a young child) if needed Ability to utilize technology relevant to this position, e.g. personal computer (basic processing, Quickbooks, licensing systems) social networking / media etc. Education and experience Must hold the State of Texas Child-Care Director License or have the ability to obtain one within 90 days of hiring. CPR/First Aid training required. Relationships The Assistant Director of the CDC reports to the Director. The Assistant Director may assist with staff supervision of teachers and other staff. Compensation and Hours Regular work week hours correspond to the school operating hours (32 hours per week), with this full time, exempt role expected to participate in events and off hour responsibilities as needed. $45,000-$50,000, negotiable commensurate with education and experience, plus health benefits.
