Meets with parents and staff to discuss the development, learning and behavior of children in the program or center. Orders supplies and monitors maintenance and cleaning at a facility. Qualifications Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress Strong organization skills, able to multitask, and can manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment Highly professional and dependable Strong customer orientation, management skills and ability to navigate multiple tasks Solid communication skills-oral and written Proven analytical and problem-solving skills Must be computer literate at a general business level (word processing, spreadsheets, email functionality, internet, etc.) Must be able to create professional documents Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations Minimum of 2 years experience in a professional daycare environment (Required) Must be eligible for Center Director Designation (please review the Texas Minimum Standards for Child Care Centers at https://www.hhs.texas.gov/providers/protective-services-providers/child-care-regulation/child-day-care-provider/become-a-child-day-care-director-texas to determine if you qualify) (Required) Previous experience operating and managing all aspects of a daycare with a capacity of at least 75 children, including business management, education, and continual learning and development, campus environment, and marketing and communications (Helpful but not required) Responsibilities Lead and manage the day-to-day and overall operations of the facility, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines along with licensing requirements while supporting the mission of BSLA. Recruit, hire, orient, train, supervise and evaluate staff Partner with staff to implement the curriculum in an effective and consistent manner Proactively recognize and respond to parent concerns Escalate issues to BSLA leadership as appropriate Ensure physical conditions of the facility meets state, local, and BSLA requirements Ensure staffing is in ratio at all times Work cooperatively with BSLA leadership to aggressively improve areas of concern Hire and train all staff positions for the daycare, and implement the curriculum provided by BSLA Ensure that the staff provides the best possible learning and care experience for the children in our programs Oversee the curriculum, and market the facility and its programs Implement policies, procedures, and systems to ensure a safe, healthy environment in compliance with BSLA policies and state standards at all times. Specific procedures of critical compliance are but not limited to: release procedures, sign in and out, medication, bus run/field trip procedures, food programs Represent the daycare and BSLA to the public, the community, parents, visitors, and staff with professionalism and integrity Plan and participate in marketing and special events Effect changes required for continual compliance and improvements Manage the daycare budget in compliance with the guidelines of BSLA Organize and manage meetings and training as required Follow through with all duties and miscellaneous duties in a competent and timely manner Complete any additional duties as assigned Accept and manage change in a proactive and positive manner Receive instruction and direction in an appropriate manner
