What they do
A Preschool or Childcare Director manages and directs programs for very young children. Supervises child care workers and pre-school teachers. Proposes policies, program fees and budgets for approval by a program board or administrative agency or implements policies of a national organization. Meets with parents and staff to discuss the development, learning and behavior of children in the program or center. Orders supplies and monitors maintenance and cleaning at a facility. Ensures that the program or center meets state and federal guidelines.

Reports To:
Area Director Compensation $55,000-$65,000/year pending education, credentials, and professional Early Childhood Education experience. Performance bonus Benefits Health, Dental & Vision insurance 401(k) available Paid Holidays PTO package with growth based on tenure Childcare tuition discounts Professional development opportunities and ongoing leadership support Responsibilities Serve as the senior onsite leader of the school and its public face in the community Develop and support the Education Director, Program Coordinator, and teaching staff Oversee recruitment, scheduling, and classroom staffing Ensure full compliance with Texas licensing regulations and lead the school to Texas Rising Star 4-star standards Manage the school's monthly P&L, control operating expenses, and operate within an established budget Run payroll and manage tuition billing in childcare management software Oversee facility quality and maintenance, safety standards, supply ordering, and vendor relationships Conduct parent tours and convert enrollment leads into enrolled families Lead marketing and build partnerships with local families, businesses, and organizations to grow enrollment and the school's reputation Partner with the Education Director on curriculum quality, teacher coaching, and family engagement Qualifications Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or equivalent in education or a related field; Bachelor's preferred Texas Director credential 5-7+ years as an onsite administrator in early childhood education 10+ years' experience in licensed preschools Experience managing payroll, profit and loss, and school operating systems Working knowledge of Texas licensing compliance and Texas Rising Star and NAEYC accreditation standards Proven ability to manage enrollment, site-level administration, scheduling, and quality assurance, and to use data to inform operational decisions Strong educational leadership, mentorship, and team management, including curriculum implementation and teacher coaching Proficiency with childcare management and CRM systems, and comfortable in Excel/Google Sheets Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills Passion for experiential learning, school culture, and family engagement Valid driver's license and ability to pass background check Why Join?
