Dancing Moose Montessori School is a leading early childhood education program serving children from 18 months through 3rd grade. Our school offers hands-on learning experiences, designed to nurture academic, social, and emotional development in a supportive and engaging environment.Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Outdoor Garden Education Teacher to lead our garden-based learning program. This role is essential to helping students connect with the natural world and understand the basics of gardening, plant life, and sustainability.Key Responsibilities:
Garden Maintenance:
Oversee and maintain 40+ grow boxes, ensuring the garden thrives throughout the year.Teaching and Lesson Planning:
Plan and deliver engaging 20-30 minute gardening lessons for children ages 1-7. Tailor lessons to the developmental needs of different age groups, fostering curiosity about plants and the environment.Community Engagement:
Organize and oversee an annual garden fundraiser, building relationships with corporate sponsors to support school initiatives. Collaboration withSchool Chef:
Work closely with the school chef to plan and grow produce that will be harvested and used in the school's kitchen.Required Skills:
Gardening Experience:
Demonstrated experience in gardening, with a solid understanding of regional plant life and sustainable gardening practices.Teaching Experience:
Prior experience in an educational setting, particularly in teaching young children, with the ability to create hands-on learning experiences. Passion forNature:
A deep love for the outdoors and enthusiasm for sharing that passion with young learners.Positive Attitude:
