Job Description

Job Summary The Program Supervisor plays a vital role in the daily success of our center by supporting teachers, partnering with the Center Director, and ensuring high-quality care and education for every child. This is not an office-based position. The majority of your day will be spent on the classroom floor coaching teachers, supporting children, assisting with daily operations, and stepping in wherever needed to keep the center running smoothly. This role serves as a bridge between the teaching team and the Director by providing hands-on leadership, modeling best practices, solving problems in real time, and helping maintain compliance with Washington Administrative Code (WAC) and center policies. The ideal candidate is a positive leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys mentoring others, and leads by example. Duties Support the daily operations of the center while maintaining a strong presence on the classroom floor. Coach, mentor, and support teachers to promote high-quality care and positive classroom management. Partner with the Center Director to ensure smooth daily operations and consistent implementation of center policies. Provide classroom support and coverage as needed throughout the day. Observe classrooms and provide coaching, feedback, and encouragement to teaching staff. Build positive relationships with children, families, and team members. Monitor program quality and recommend improvements to support continuous growth. Help ensure compliance with Washington Administrative Code (WAC), licensing regulations, and center procedures. Assist with staff training, onboarding, and professional development. Foster a positive, collaborative, and team-oriented culture throughout the center. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a licensed childcare setting preferred. Strong understanding of Washington Administrative Code (WAC) and childcare licensing requirements. Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop teaching staff. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Strong communication and relationship-building skills with staff, children, and families. Ability to remain calm, flexible, and solution-focused in a fast-paced environment. Passion for supporting teachers, building strong teams, and creating exceptional experiences for children and families.
