Teacher - Head Start Kids' Corps, Inc. - 4.1 Anchorage, AK Job Details Full-time $26.54 - $32.12 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Parent-teacher conferences (communication methods) Full Job Description We are looking for a passionate and skilled Preschool Teacher to join our early childhood education team and support school readiness and lifelong learning for young children and their families. This position plays a critical role in creating a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment, while also strengthening the connection between school and home through regular family engagement. As a Preschool Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality early learning experiences aligned with curriculum standards, promoting positive child development across physical, intellectual, emotional, and social domains. You will conduct home visits and parent-teacher conferences to foster strong family partnerships, support individualized learning goals, and emphasize the home as a vital part of the child's educational journey.
Key performance areas include:
Classroom Services :
Develop and implement weekly lesson plans, promote health and safety practices, support child social-emotional growth using Conscious Discipline, and provide engaging learning opportunities that meet individual developmental needs, including those of Dual Language Learners.
Family Partnerships & Parent Engagement :
Build goal-oriented relationships with families, support parent participation in the classroom, and encourage family literacy and school involvement.
Home Visits & Parent Conferences :
Conduct scheduled home visits and conferences to share developmental progress, collaborate on goals, and offer educational activities and community resources that support learning at home.
Work Habits & Professional Practices :
Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and a commitment to continuous improvement through training, reflection, and active participation in meetings and agency initiatives.
Recordkeeping & Reporting :
Maintain accurate documentation of child development, family interactions, attendance, and meal counts using agency systems and internal databases.
Communication :
Foster respectful, timely, and effective communication with families, coworkers, and supervisors to ensure a supportive and collaborative learning environment.
Work hours:
Monday - Friday 8am-5pm (part year August-May) Reports to:
Center Director Supervises:
Gives input to Center Director on Assistant Teacher performance
Minimum Requirement:
AA or higher degree in Early Childhood Education AA or BA in a related field with at least four (3-credit) courses in Early Childhood Applicants who do not possess a degree in early childhood or related field must agree to take additional classes to meet Head Start Teacher Qualification Requirements.

Graduate Degree:
