Church Nursery Worker

Job Description The Nursery Worker is a part-time position that focuses on the care of the children of the church prior to and during Sunday church services and other services as agreed upon. Candidate will work alongside another nursery worker to comply with Safeguarding God's Children requirements. Qualifications Experience working with children ages 0-4. Agree to undergo a background check. High School Graduate. Patience and love for children. Be a person of Christian ethics and solid character. Provide references outlining character and experience. Completion of Safeguarding God's Children, a 3-hour web-based course required in the Episcopal Church for any person having contact with a child. Duties include, but are not limited to: Arrive at the church at least 15 minutes prior to start of Sunday School to set up room and prepare to receive children. Stay after worship service to ensure all children are with parents and room is cleaned up. Provide childcare for children (Ages 0-4) during Sunday School and worship services and during occasional evening activities at the church (as needed). Provide notification of needed supplies. Maintain nursery cleanliness by wiping down all toys with disinfectant wipes after use. Guide children through pre-planned activities as required. Be willing to assist with occasional activities geared toward children during the worship service. Communicate with parents of the children about the time spent in the nursery. Put away toys, and wipe off surfaces after each event. Make sure children are clean and diapers changed (as needed) prior to the parent(s) picking them up after the service. Terms of Employment The Nursery Worker will be paid $17.00 per hour. The Nursery Worker will be scheduled to work approximately 3 hours each week (8:45 - 11:45 each Sunday). The Nursery Worker will be paid on a bi-weekly basis.
