Job Description
Daycare Assistant The Children s Choice Overview Join our vibrant early childhood education team as a Daycare Assistant, where your enthusiasm and caring nature will make a meaningful difference in young children's lives. In this role, you will support the daily operations of a nurturing daycare environment, helping to foster growth, learning, and safety for children from infancy through preschool age. Your positive attitude and dedication will contribute to creating a warm, engaging space where children feel secure and excited to explore. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in childhood development and classroom management while working alongside experienced educators. Responsibilities Assist in implementing age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development Support children during playtime, meals, naps, and learning activities to ensure their safety and well-being Help maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages curiosity and independence Supervise children closely to prevent accidents and respond promptly to their needs or concerns Support with diapering, feeding, and basic caregiving tasks for infants and toddlers as needed Follow all health and safety protocols, including first aid procedures when necessary Communicate effectively with parents about their child's day-to-day experiences and developmental progress Requirements Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying or similar settings is highly preferred Knowledge of childhood development principles and classroom management techniques Certification or training in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in special education or working with children with disabilities are a plus Demonstrated ability to engage with children of various ages, including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and connect with families Ability to handle multiple responsibilities with patience, energy, and a positive attitude Flexibility to adapt to changing daily needs within a dynamic childcare environment Join us in creating a joyful space where children thrive!
